Carone lab experienced "hot owl summer" where we successfully inserted a CTCF sgRNA into a plasmid backbone designed for utilization in CRISPRi/a
we also drank bubble tea :)
Same thing as last year but a little further on the project
Carone lab experienced "hot owl summer" once again where we successfully transfected our designer plasmid into HeLa and human mesenchymal stem cells
we also drank even more bubble tea :))
Did you know brewing research is something you can do with microbiology? I sure didn't
Investigated optimal pitching/harvesting practices, LMDA plating to screen for contamination, and a few different quality assurance assays.
Also drank a lot of beer--- for research of course.
Working under Andrew Pask and Axel Newton in the TIGRR lab.
I study skulls and how they form, using trangenic mice with little bits of thylacine in em.

I have had the pleasure of doing a ton of science communication events since moving to melbourne. Unfortunately, there does not exist enough public speaking opportunities to sate my twisted desires. So I started a podcast.
Not every guest is a scientist. Not every guest is my friend.
